The group Los Cañoneros was created on November 20, 1982, is a popular Venezuelan cañonero group, as soon as several of their members participated in the play “La Verdadera Historia de Alma Llanera”, acclimated in 1926 with this sort of venezuelan merengue, and cañonero music.

The first performance of the group was in the Plaza Monumental de Mérida, alternating with important national and regional groups in a tribute to Simón Bolivar (first appearance like group), At that moment the seal Palacio de la Música is interested in the group and records its first long playEl Besaor”.

At that moment Los Cañoneros become obligatory reference within Venezuelan music, was the favorite group of Amador Bendayán, in Sábado Sensacional, and symbol of the Caracas people in the celebrations of the city, appearing in the most varied places of massive concurrence. For that moment Los Cañoneros already appeared in the most important theaters of the country. In addition to Venezuela, they have had like scene Madrid and Córdoba (Spain), Trinidad, Guyana, Surinam, Hamburg and Leipzig (Germany), the carnivals of the Islands Azores, in Portugal, they were transmitted by television to all Portugal and the Canary Islands of Spain, and the United States. In 1987 the dissolution of the group was considered, something that not take place, because the pending commitments went away extending, finally, became readjustments within Los Cañoneros, to follow with its presentations.

In 1990 the group does its first extension, incorporating a trumpet to the dowry. They have appeared in the following television programs: Sábado Sensacional, Almorzando con Orlando, Buenos Días Venezuela, Explosión Juvenil, Crónicas, Buenas Noches, Venezuela Siempre Siempre Venezuela, Las Cómplices, A Puerta Cerrada, Giros TV and some special ones, in addition to its participation in the telenovela La Trepadora.
